This tutorial will show you an example on how to correctly set up a light source in 3ds Max to display more realistic models during the AR visualization.
Real-time shadows' support is available in version 2.2 of ARPlugin.
Both "Omni" and "Directional" lights can be used to generate shadows during the AR visualization. Please note that only one light at a time can be configured as an "ARLight" object. Moreover, you will be able to set up different parameters for the "ARlight" object such as the level of detail and which markers can be affected by the light.
The tutorial describes how to configure a scene with two markers: one holding the 3D model and the other one acting as a light source. In the images below you can see two different configurations of a 3D model of a sundial and the marker acting as the "sun".
Also, the tutorial contains other sections describing different light setups you can use during the AR visualization.
