Alpha Map with ARmedia.

Postby inexcg » 06/04/2012, 7:56

I got a project with ARMedia and I have to use alpha map for shadows

but when I use standard map with alpha map it works like occluded object.

Is there any solution for this problem?

I want to use gradient soft shadow without direct light. because Fast light setting makes side dark.

and in the soft light (F8 +Ctrl+2) setting, Shadow is soft but dark side on the wall is looks like broken map.

I use two alpha maps on the site plan with gradation and shadow plane under the car.

When I cleaned opacity map slot on the site object, shadow plan under the car works good without any problem.

but when opacity map overlayed each other (site opacity map and car shadow plan)

it works like occlusion object.

Hello,
this is a strange issue.

Perhaps, you should try to use a baked texture on your terrain ground and see if the issue is resolved.

Terrain site got a baked map with standard meterial,

and that problem occurs when I put the alpha map to the opacity map slot in the terrain

when I cut out alpha map in the terrain object , there is no problem.

Perhaps you have already looked at it, but just in case, here is the link to the shadow plane tutorial on this forum:

Another thing you can try is to use only jpg images as opacity maps and see if the problem is resolved.

If event these do not work, you can attach the image you are using as opacity maps and we will analyze it for you (if you do not want to publish it, you can send me a Private message on this forum)
