Custom AR Marker Problem

Postby enzyme69 » 13/07/2012, 1:56

Dear AR-Media, what kind of image is best to create AR-Marker? I tried all kinds of way, following the example Markers, but I kept failing. Even a simple one like an Alphabet letter.

Even if the marker successful (green area detected), the preview failed to generate.

Is it alright to use customer Market with just a small box of green area detection?

Can we use Image instead of B&W Marker in the future?

Hello,
the image contained in black border can be virtually anything you chose, a letter or a number is just fine, there is no problem with that.
After you select the green area, just click on in and the marker generator will create all these files:
- 1 .arpattern file
- 1 .patt file
- 2 .jpg files which contains the preview images of the marker.
Note that these 2 .jpg files are not necessary for the marker to work, they are only meant to be used in ARPlugin to distinguish the marker from the others in the library, apart from its name. This means that you can still use it safely in your scenes.

If the 2 .jpg files are not created, then it could mean that the marker image is slightly rotated. I suggest you to update your version of Quicktime, maybe if you are using a very old version of it, it could cause some problems.
If you want, you can send an e-mail with the image you are trying to use to
