Augmented Reality and Risk Management in Hospitals: Conference in Rome

While a growing number of Augmented Reality applications is under development in the Helthcare sector, Policlinico Tor Vergata, one of the most important Hospital and Medical Research Institutions in Rome (Italy), has announced a conference on Augmented Reality and Risk Management in Hospitals. The one day conference will be held in Policlinico Tor Vergata, Rome, Italy on April 29th 2014, from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm.

The conference goal is twofold:

1) to discuss the newest approaches to improve safety management in Hospitals thanks to technologies like Augmented Reality

2) to present the outcomes of the European Project ANGELS an acronym for “Augmented Network GEnerating Learning for Safety”.

Developed in the context of the Lifelong Learning Program, ANGELS is a European Project that involves six partners: Policlinico Tor Vergata (Rome, Italy), Entropy Knowledge Network (Rome, Italy), Inglobe Technologies(Rome, Italy), NCONZO (Czech Republic), Universitat Jaume I (Castellon, Spain), Hopital Broca (Paris, France).

The project goal was to develop a system to evaluate in a preliminary way how a technology enhanced and situated learning paradigm can affect workers awareness and capability of addressing risks in healthcare environments.

The system has been tested in pilot studies and large scale trials running in Hospitals across four european countries (Italy, Spain, France and Czech Republic). The video below was recorded during the pilot study in Spain
